Admission Requirements
Academic Requirements
A 3 or 4-year Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 55-65% (Second Class Honours, Upper Division equivalent). Top universities like TCD and UCD often require 60-65% for competitive courses.
English Language Proficiency
IELTS score of 6.5 overall with no band less than 6.0, or TOEFL iBT score of 88-95. Business and Law programs may require a higher score (IELTS 7.0).
Work Experience
MBA and some specialized Master's programs (e.g., in Business Analytics) may require 2-5 years of relevant full-time work experience.
GMAT/GRE
GMAT is often required for MBA programs (a score of 550-600+ is typical). GRE is rarely required but can strengthen an application for research-based or technical Master's programs.
Supporting Documents

Visa Process
Receive University Acceptance
Secure an unconditional offer letter and pay the required tuition fee deposit (usually 50% of the first year's fee) to receive the final acceptance letter.
Prepare Financial Proof
Show evidence of funds to cover tuition and living expenses. You must demonstrate access to at least $10,000 for the first year's living costs, in addition to tuition fees. Bank statements, education loans, or sponsorship letters are accepted.
Complete Online Visa Application (AVATS)
Fill out the online application form on the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service website. Pay the visa fee of approximately $100 (single entry) or $170 (multiple entry).
Submit Documents to VFS Global
Book an appointment at a VFS Global Visa Application Centre in India (located in major cities). Submit your printed application, passport, photographs, and all supporting documents in person.
Provide Biometrics
Your fingerprints and photograph will be captured at the VFS centre as part of the application process.
Attend an Interview (If Required)
The visa officer may request a telephonic or in-person interview to verify your genuine student intent, course knowledge, and financial capacity.
Visa Decision and Registration
Processing takes 4-8 weeks. Upon arrival in Ireland, you must register with the Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB) within 90 days and pay a $300 registration fee to get your Irish Residence Permit (IRP).
